Can Help
The tech-reach mission as an organization is
“to
improve quality of life for the people of Price Hill and surrounding communities
through improved access to technology education and technology-enhanced learning
opportunities.”
One way we fulfill this mission is to train the people who give back to the community, such as teachers, social service workers and other community members. Tech-reach builds the community's capacity to serve and to thrive. Tech-reach trains non-profit staff and volunteers at the state-of-the-art Schaeper Center facility, or at another organization's site. The tech support and technology education professionals at tech-reach can provide affordable, customized trainings that meet your specific needs. Contact us today if your organization could benefit from this community service.
Along with evening adult computer courses, tech-reach also schedules free presentations by partner non-profits, such as the popular "Earn It - Keep It - Grow It" and "When Life Throws a Curve Ball: Learning to Live on Less" . Adults: please register in advance (see links above for registration information). Unless otherwise indicated, these community presentations are for adults and are not appropriate for children under 16.
An important way that tech-reach improves access to technology for the community is by partnering with non-profit Cincinnati Computer Cooperative to help individuals and families acquire affordable desktop computers for their homes. Community members can pick up fully loaded, refurbished computers/ keyboards/ speakers/ monitors at Elder's Schaeper Center. See Computers 4 Home Application Form
Tech-reach collaborates with other organizations to host community-building events, such as:
*job fairs* *community forums* *community-wide planning sessions*
*exhibits* *free EITC tax preparation & e-filings*
*conferences*
*Price Hill's Community Action Team Meetings*
*corporate/agency staff trainings* *other events that inform and
inspire*
